Everything you Need to Know Before Visiting Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas
When I was planning my trip to Texas, one of the main things I wanted to see was Magnolia Market! Once you start to research where Magnolia Market is located you’ll soon find out that the town that it is located in – Waco – does not have much to offer other than Magnolia Market. And, when I was researching, it was tough to figure out what was actually at Magnolia Market. I have encompassed everything there is to do at Magnolia Market in this post! After reading, if you have any questions feel free to comment below!
Parking
There is a large, gravel parking lot connected to the Magnolia Market property. And it’s free! There are designated parking spots in this lot for handicapped guests, and there are also some designated street parking spots along Webster street in front of the silos.
Food
Don’t eat before you get here! There are a lot of food options for just about anyone. There are several food trucks that are open everyday:
Club Sandwich (Asian-American style food)
Luna Juice Bar (Fresh juices)
The Dog House (Hot dogs, bratwurst, sausages)
Co-Town Crepes (Sweet and savory crepes)
Brick Oven Pizza (Personal-sized pizzas)
Captain Billy Whizzbang’s (Burgers)
Alabama Sweet Tea Company (Sweet teas; it comes in a glass mason jar that you can keep!)
Cheddar Box (Gourmet macaroni and grilled cheese)
Summer Snow (Snow cones)
Keep in mind that some food trucks are so popular, some of their menu items sell out fast! We arrived around 11:30am and most of the juices at Luna Juice Bar were sold out, as well as some of the items at Cheddar Box.
There is a restaurant, Magnolia Table, that is said to be great (though we didn’t have the chance to try it!). It is about 2.5 miles from the actual Magnolia Market Silos and is one of their newer additions; it seems like they’ve grown more than expected, which is pretty cool! Keep in mind that the hours are 6am – 3pm Monday – Saturday and it is first come, first-served. They mention on their website that they may not allow anyone else in before 3pm on days where it is very busy.
Bakery
The Silos Baking Co is another must-see place at Magnolia Market! Someone working there will hand you a piece of paper to fill out while you wait in line. This is really helpful because it lists the bakery items they have for sale, as well as a description of what is in each cupcake! The line for the bakery can get long, so this is a great idea to keep the line moving.
We tried the S’mores and Lemon Lavender cupcakes, and they were both great! If you don’t want to wait in the long line, they have an airstream near all of the other food trucks where you can select from a limited menu of their bakery items.
Magnolia Market Store
The Magnolia Market store is a great place for a souvenir! It encompasses 2 floors and includes items like kitchen accessories, home decor, and a selection t-shirts. There are stairs, as well as an elevator on the right side of the floor for those that need it. I purchased a “Waco” t-shirt and a Magnolia Market canvas-type bag and they were both reasonably priced. The more high-priced items are of course the home decor pieces, but every item in the store is unique and definitely fits into Chip and Joanna’s style!
Outdoor Area
If you have children, the large turf area in the middle of Magnolia Market is a great place for them to spend their energy after a long car ride! There is a variety of toys for them to play with at no cost.
There are a lot of picnic tables in the shade, perfect for eating your lunch or taking a nice break from walking around!
There is also a small garden and garden shop in one of the corners of the Magnolia Market. I personally didn’t think it was anything spectacular, but it’s worth checking out!
Best Photo Opportunities
If you’re coming to the Magnolia Market Silos, you are going to of course want to take a lot of photos! My favorite photo-op locations included the following:
“Welcome to Magnolia Silos” sign (on one wall of the bakery)
“A Balanced Diet is a Cupcake in Each Hand” sign (inside the bakery)
Green Magnolia Market + Garden car (near the silos/turf play area)
#MilestoMagnolia arch (near the entrance of the Magnolia store)
I am so happy I visited Magnolia Market and checked it off of my bucket list. It was exciting to see updates on episodes of Fixer Upper and on Joanna Gaines’ Instagram, and then to see it all in real life!
I suggest making your visit to Waco a day trip or half-day trip, driving from one of the (sort of) nearby towns. I suggest looking into Austin (1.5 hours), Dallas (1.5 hours), or San Antonio (less than 3 hours). Your best bet is to come early, on a weekday, in the off-season, or a combination of those! It can get very busy; lines get long and things sell out, so it is best to plan accordingly to make your trip most enjoyable! We came on a weekday at the end of September and spent about 3 hours there, as there were minimal lines. I hope that helps you when planning your trip!
What a great depiction of Waco and Magnolia Farms. This experience was definitely more than I expected it to be. It is a great way to spend part of your vacation with family as there is definitely something for everyone!
Thanks, Sandra! 🙂
