10 Best Products for your Dog on Amazon

Owning a dog can be expensive, no matter the age or size of your furry friend! I have found Amazon to be a great source for pet supplies, both out of convenience and cost. Amazon has great prices on many products, and the fact that most items can be shipped free in 2 days with Amazon Prime is a big plus! Here are what I believe to be the 10 best dog products on Amazon.
Dog Bed
Daisy, our 35-lb Cocker Spaniel mix loves this dog bed! She loves it so much, we have actually purchased 2; one for my parents’ house and the other for ours! My favorite part is that it is machine washable. Daisy weighs 35 lbs and she fits well in the 25 x 21 size. There is another bed size for smaller dogs, and many similar beds on Amazon for larger dogs!
Furminator Deshedding Tool
If you make one purchase, it has to be this deshedding brush! I didn’t understand what all the hype around the Furminator brand was about until I purchased one of their brushes. The Furminator brushes safely remove your dog’s loose hair on their topcoat and undercoat. There are many different varieties of Furminator brushes depending on the size and coat of your dog, so make sure to read the description of each. This brush is amazing!
Skunk-Off
You think you don’t need it, until you really do. And when you do, you will have wished you spend the few bucks to have it on-hand! Interactive Treat Toys
The Treat Dispensing Bob-A-Lot has helped give our dog Daisy something to do while we leave the house. She has to tip the toy to the side with her nose or paw in order for the treats to come out. We even put pieces of her kibble inside before we leave for work in the morning so she eats slower. Daisy is 35-lbs and we purchased the large size for her!
Collapsible Dog Bowls
Collapsible dog bowls like these are perfect for traveling with your pup! We love to take them on roadtrips, and especially hikes. They take up very little room and can be easily cleaned.
Long Leash
If you don’t completely trust your dog off-leash, but you want to give them more freedom, you need to get a long leash! We use our 50-foot leash on hikes, the beach, and the park. It allows our dog Daisy to have fun and run around, while us also having control! This has allowed us to improve on Daisy’s recall training.
Outdoor Cot/Elevated Bed
We placed our dog cot for Daisy out in out backyard and she loves it! This bed allows your dog to have a comfortable place to lay, off of the ground. This cot is made of waterproof fabric, and has a mesh center that allows your dog to stay cool. There are a wide variety of cot sizes and colors available from this brand, as well as many others on Amazon!
Travel Kennel
Our travel kennel has been a lifesaver when take our dog on trips! We also have a a traditional wire kennel that folds up, but it is very heavy. This type of soft kennel is ideal for travel because it is light and collapsible. My favorite feature (besides the fabric being machine washable!) is the zipper at the top. When this part is open, it would allow your dog to sit up, while still being contained in the kennel!
Toothbrush Chew Toy
If you’re going to buy a toy for your dog, why not buy one that does more than just be a toy? This chew toy doubles as a toothbrush, cleaning plaque off of your dog’s teeth! It is made from non-toxic material that is soft enough for your dog’s gums but hard enough that they can’t chew it up. There is a smaller size and a larger size available depending on the size of your dog!
Potty Bags
Do not be that person walking their dog that forgets a bag and can’t pick up after their dog! Some people think you have to buy 30+ dog potty rolls (meaning hundreds of potty bags) on Amazon, and although there are options for that, this pack of a few rolls should do just fine for you for a while!
This brand uses the starches of plants to make their bags, making this product just about as eco-friendly as possible. They are also leak-proof (very important, obviously!) and most importantly, compostable! If you’re looking to be more eco-friendly in other aspects of your life, this same company makes compostable trash bags too!
Amazon is my go-to place for just about anything. They have what seems like an unlimited inventory of items that are competitively priced, and can arrive at your door in 2 days.
